Twitter thread of the 'best FIFA songs of the decade' is so good it's going viral

We all love a game of FIFA.

Many football fans prefer EA Sport’s football simulation over its main rival, Pro Evolution Soccer.

Is it the gameplay, the licensing, or perhaps Ultimate Team? Nope. Sometimes it’s simply down to the soundtrack.

‘FIFA tunes’ have taken off in recent years – almost as its own genre of music. After all, some clubs in the UK have started nights dedicated to songs that feature on the game. Epic.

It’s clear that EA also take a lot of pride in picking the perfect songs to add to their soundtrack every year and because of that, we’ve been treated to some serious bangers.

Actually, the chances are you’ve probably forgotten some of the classics. If that’s the case, it’s something you don’t have to worry about anymore.

Twitter user ‘Haz’ is creating a thread of the ‘best FIFA songs of the decade’ – and it’s going viral.

Check it out:

Brilliant. There’s no less than 21 absolute tunes on the thread that will give you a serious nostalgia kick.

It includes the likes of:

Bastille – Weight of Living (FIFA 13)

Avicii – The Nights (FIFA 15)

John Newman – Love Me Again (FIFA 14)

Imagine Dragons – On Top of the World (FIFA 13)

American Authors – Hit It (FIFA 14)

Kygo – Raging (FIFA 17)

Foster the People – Call It What You Want (FIFA 12)

The thread is going down very well with FIFA fans, and currently has over 21,400 likes and 5,800 retweets at the time of writing.

Of course, other Twitter users are chipping in with their own suggestions too – the thread is a great read and will keep growing and growing.

Let’s hope EA Sports continue to bless us with good music over the coming years. If they do slip up, FIFA fans will be straight on to them.
