Liverpool are getting it right on and off the field.

The Reds are starting to add to their trophy haul in what looks like being a dominant era for the club.

And plans to raise Anfield’s capacity to more than 61,000, along with a record kit deal with Nike, show that the club is continuing to grow in other areas.

It’s a far cry from the situation over at Old Trafford where Manchester United are on a downward path.

The Red Devils haven’t produced a great team since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.

Whereas Liverpool’s signings are hitting the ground running, Man United have had a number of misses in the transfer market. Angel Di Maria, Memphis Depay and Fred are among those to struggle.

And data from Spotrac shows that Liverpool are getting so much more for their money than Man United are.

The website features the wages of every Liverpool and Man United player - and some of the revelations are staggering.

Harry Maguire earns more than every single Liverpool player except for Mohamed Salah.

Juan Mata, Luke Shaw, Nemanja Matic and Ashley Young all have higher wages than Sadio Mane.

And David de Gea earns more than four times the amount Liverpool pay Alisson Becker each week.

The findings were shared on Twitter by @B0yfromSE, who wrote: “Guys think players are coming to United because of history and s***.”

Liverpool's wages

Man United's wages

It’s incredible, really.

Man United can obviously afford to pay their players so much. The figures wouldn’t look so bad from their perspective if the players were delivering.

What’s perhaps more pertinent is just how many good deals Liverpool currently have.

Andrew Robertson is on £50,000-per-week, for example. Trent Alexander-Arnold is paid even less at £40,000-per-week.

Divock Origi has made some key contributions and he’s earning £45,000-per-week.

Georginio Wijnaldum is underpaid at £75,000-per-week and Alisson certainly deserves a pay rise.

Liverpool are smashing Man United off the pitch as well as on it.
