So many incredible players featured in the Premier League last decade.

David de Gea, John Terry, Yaya Toure, Sergio Aguero... all these players were brilliant for their respective clubs during the 2010s.

But who makes the Premier League's best team of last decade?

We recently answered that question in October, where we put together an XI we thought were the best of the decade.

However, WhoScored have now answered that very same question using statistics.

And it's fair to say the stats don't agree entirely with the XI that we came up with...

Only players who made at least 175 league appearances last decade have been included.

GK: Lukasz Fabianski - 6.89

Now this is a massive surprise. We put De Gea as the best Premier League goalkeeper of last decade and we're sure many would agree.

But stats argue that the current West Ham stopper was better than him. The Pole has made 737 saves and kept 58 clean sheets since 2010.

RB: Antonio Valencia - 7.16

Another surprise. We went with Pablo Zabaleta, but the statistics say that Valencia was the Premier League's best right-back of last decade.

The Ecuadorian, who is Man United's only representative in the team, made 222 league appearances for his club before leaving last summer.

CB: Laurent Koscielny - 7.21

When you think of the best centre-back of last decade, you would almost definitely say one of John Terry, Virgil van Dijk or Vincent Kompany.

But, amazingly, according to stats the best of them all was Koscielny.

The Frenchman joined in 2010 and had the most interceptions (697) of all Premier League players last decade.

CB: Vincent Kompany - 7.19

This is more like it. There's no disputing Kompany deserved to make the best team of the 2010s.

Manchestre City's long-serving captain lifted four Premier League titles before leaving the club last summer.

LB: Gael Clichy - 7.28

We went with Leighton Baines for our best left-back of last decade. WhoScored disagree though, who went with former Arsenal and Man City defender Clichy.

The Frenchman was statistically the best defender in the Premier League last decade having recorded a rating of 7.28.

RM: Sadio Mane - 7.31

Mane has a very good chance of making the best team of the 2020s too if he keeps up his current form.

The Senegal international joined Southampton in 2014 before earning a move to Liverpool in 2016.

He racked up 76 league goals and 28 assists last decade.

CM: Yaya Toure - 7.27

Toure was a key part of a Man City side that enjoyed so much success in the 2010s.

He managed to score 59 times in 230 league appearances before leaving in 2018.

The Ivorian was unstoppable in the 2013/14 season, where his 20 goals carried Man City to the Premier League title.

CM: David Silva - 7.37

Silva made more key passes (768) and registered more assists (89) than any other Premier League player last decade.

He will leave Man City in the summer as arguably the best player in their history.

LM: Eden Hazard - 7.64

Hazard is well worth his place in this team. He was statistically the best Premier League player of last decade.

The Belgian managed 85 goals and 54 assists for Chelsea in England's top tier from 2012 until his departure last summer.

His contribution helped the Blues to two Premier League titles.

ST: Harry Kane - 7.42

Kane netted 136 times in the league last decade, a brilliant tally considering he only became a regular in 2014.

At 26 years old, Kane is on course to be named in the best Premier League team of the 2020s too.

That is, of course, if the Englishman doesn't make the move to Real Madrid or Barcelona...

ST: Sergio Aguero - 7.46

Arguably the greatest striker in Premier League history.

The Argentine netted 174 times in the league last decade, more than any other player.

His most important came in the last minute of the 2011/12 campaign, where his dramatic winner saw Man City win their first Premier League title.

That back five is highly controversial.

Only one defender from our Premier League team of the decade makes it based on statistics - Kompany.

The fact Fabianski makes it in front of De Gea and Petr Cech is remarkable.

Koscielny is also a notable inclusion, who ousts Van Dijk and Terry for a spot in the team.

Frank Lampard and N'Golo Kante both miss out in midfield, while Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney also don't make the team.

Man City dominated last decade and that's shown by the fact they have five players in the side.

Only one Liverpool player made the XI (Mane), but you can bet on them having more representatives in the 2020s if Jurgen Klopp stays at the helm.
