Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Manchester United reign hit a new low on Tuesday evening.

The Norwegian watched on as his side fell 3-0 down to fierce rivals Manchester City in their Carabao Cup semi-final first leg tie at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer was forced to act at half-time as he sent on Nemanja Matic in place of Jesse Lingard.

And that proved to be a wise decision as Marcus Rashford netted the only goal of the second 45 minutes.

But the damage had already been done and United now need a miracle to defeat Man City in the return leg at the Etihad.

It's just the latest of a poor run of results for Solskjser.

The United manager now has a worse win rate at the club than he did at Cardiff.

Many have accused him of being out of his depth as manager at the club.

In recent times, football fans have been mocking Solskjaer for his tactical instructions while on the sideline.

He was even accused of 'copying' Mikel Arteta's during United's 2-0 defeat to Arsenal on New Year's Day.

And now fans are making fun of Solskjaer's tactical instructions against Manchester City on Tuesday.

The camera panned to Solskjaer waving his hands around in the 71st minute.

@mcfcellis_ commented that the 46-year-old was teaching his player the 'Cha-Cha Slide'.

While another joked that Solskjaer was imitating being a chef.

And @TarekTamo10 wrote that he was teaching his players how to make a salad.

Poor Solskjaer. It seems like he's going to keep getting ridiculed on social media as long as his United side are failing to get results.

While his tactics may not be up to the required standard, it's also important to note that it's not entirely his fault.

United have one of their worst teams in Premier League history.

Their midfield, which last night comprised of Fred, Andreas Pereira and Jesse Lingard, is not very good at all.

While Solskjaer isn't having the greatest time at the club, the likes of Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp would also struggle with the players the Norwegian has at his disposal.
