Tyson Fury opens up on 'gruelling' training camp ahead of Deontay Wilder rematch

Cincinnati Bengals v Los Angeles Rams

Preparations for the highly anticipated rematch with Deontay Wilder are underway for Tyson Fury.

He is currently in his training base in Las Vegas, and despite looking like fun and games for most of the time, Fury said he is only focused on his preparation.

Fury will face Wilder for the WBC heavyweight championship at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on February 22, and until then, Fury says he will only be focused on his training routine.

“On Instagram, it may seem like I’m living the dream in Las Vegas, with blue skies and palm trees, but in reality, I’m in a gruelling training camp and it’s repetitive every day.

“Instagram would make you believe it’s a whale of a time and I’m enjoying myself and everything is fantastic, but in reality, I’m being worked to the bone every single day.

“Whatever you see on Instagram in other people’s lives that you’re trying to gain influence from, remember the grass is not always greener on the other side. Anything good in life comes from hard work.”

Wilder is also getting ready for the rematch with Fury. He is happy that the rematch is finally happening: “I’m happy and I’m excited that the rematch is finally happening. I want to give the fans what they want to see.

“I’ve been doing it with my last three outings – Fury, Breazeale and Ortiz. They’ve been spectacular events – from my ring walks where I gather all the energy of the people, to my uniforms that I wear to help spread that energy.

“Then I give them what they all come for – the knockouts, and my knockouts have been amazing. I proved myself the first time and I’m ready to do it again. It was a very controversial fight.

“I promise my fans that there won’t be any controversy with this one. I’m going to finish it.”
