Oleksandr Usyk made fun of Tyson Fury after replacing him at the top of the WBO rankings.

The Ukrainian collected all the belts at cruiserweight level before replacing Fury at the top of the WBO rankings.

Using Instagram, Usyk posted a story that said: “Tyson don’t cry #1 WBO”.

Despite that post, and although he plans to dominate at heavyweight in the same way he did in the 200lbs division, he admitted that Fury would likely be his toughest opponent.

“I think Fury will be the most difficult.

“He’s a very unpredictable type: two metres tall and it’s not clear what’s in his head, like mine.”

As per the WBO rules, a challenger can move up or down a division and automatically be installed as the number one contender, and that’s exactly what happened with Usyk - something that Fury wasn’t happy with, even calling the Ukrainian a “cruiserweight bum”.

“Maybe if you hadn’t removed me from number one ranked WBO and put some cruiserweight bum with one fight at heavyweight [instead], then you could have a say! Haha."

The Gypsy King is currently in Las Vegas preparing for his rematch with Deontay Wilder, who Usyk described as the contender he least fears.

“Deontay Wilder is the easiest. I just want to fight him. He has the belt.”

Wilder responded to Usyk and believes that the Ukrainian poses no challenge in the division: “He’s not a threat to me. He’s too small for me. He does a lot of movement but that doesn’t faze me.”

Wilder, like Fury, is getting ready for their upcoming rematch on February 22nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

After dispatching Chazz Witherspoon in October, Usyk is now on course to challenge Anthony Joshua for the WBO strap he reclaimed from Andy Ruiz Jr in Saudi Arabia.
