There were several high-profile departures from the Premier League in the summer.

Eden Hazard and Romelu Lukaku both secured big-money moves away from England, while Aaron Ramsey and Ander Herrera were free signings for Juventus and PSG respectively.

So much attention is given to the Premier League that it’s often easy to forget about some players when they do leave England’s top flight.

Jason Puncheon, for instance. Did you know that he’s now playing for Cypriot side Pafos FC?

You’ll have no doubt heard about how well Lukaku is doing at Inter Milan, but how is Jonjoe Kenny doing out in Germany with Schalke?

Thankfully, the Independent have provided the answers by rating 50 of the biggest Premier League summer exits.

Aaron Ramsey | Arsenal to Juventus

Ramsey impressed on his Serie A debut against Verona, scoring his first goal for the Old Lady.

But he’s yet to cement a spot in Maurizio Sarri’s first team.

Laurent Koscielny | Arsenal to Bordeaux

The Frenchman is a regular in a defence that is performing above expectations.

Nacho Monreal | Arsenal to Real Sociedad

Monreal’s Real Sociedad career has gotten off to a fine start and he even managed a rare goal on his debut against Atletico Madrid.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan | Arsenal to Roma

Yep, Roma haven’t seen as much of Mkhitaryan as they would have liked, the Armenian struggling with injuries and recently being ruled out with a thigh problem.

He’s impressed when available though, scoring three goals in seven Serie A games.

Steven Defour | Burnley to Antwerp

Defour’s spell at Antwerp got off to a positive start but he’s since fallen down the pecking order.

Eden Hazard | Chelsea to Real Madrid

Hazard hasn’t hit the heights expected of him following his £89m move to Real Madrid.

The Belgian has suffered an injury-hit campaign and was left at home for the trip to Saudi Arabia for the Spanish Super Cup in order to prevent another setback.

He’s managed just one league goal for Los Blancos.

Ola Aina | Chelsea to Torino

Aina has continued to impress at Torino, where he spent last season on loan, and is a regular in their defence.

Victor Moses | Chelsea to Fenerbahce

Moses’ season isn’t going well at all.

He suffered a muscle injury on the opening day of the campaign and recently suffered a recurrence of the same issue.

Moses is undergoing rehabilitation in England.

Alvaro Morata | Chelsea to Atletico Madrid

Ten goals in 22 appearances isn’t a stellar return but we’ve seen flashes of class from Morata, including a spell in which he scored in six straight matches for Atletico Madrid.

He starred in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final win over Barcelona on Thursday with a goal and assist.

Charly Musonda | Chelsea to Vitesse

Musonda’s season was ended in October when he suffered a knee injury.

Ethan Ampadu | Chelsea to RB Leipzig

The 19-year-old has managed just 48 minutes of Bundesliga action but there are no signs of his loan spell being cut short, meaning a potentially wasted year.

Davide Zappacosta | Chelsea to Roma

Zappacosta played just 12 minutes for Roma before tearing his ACL in a training session in October.

Tiemoue Bakayoko | Chelsea to Monaco

Bakayoko went viral for forgetting his own shirt number in December.

But that aside, his return to Ligue 1 has been a positive one. He’s been an ever-present in Monaco’s midfield.

Baba Rahman | Chelsea to Mallorca

Rahman, who remains on Chelsea’s books, returned from a two-month injury layoff last month.

Kenedy | Chelsea to Getafe

Two goals and four assists for Getafe represents a decent return fo rate Brazilian, although eight of his 10 La Liga appearances have come from off the bench.

Jason Puncheon | Crystal Palace to Pafos

Puncheon was heralded as Pafos’ “greatest transfer” when he joined the Cypriot side in August.

He’s yet to score in 13 appearances, though.

Alexander Sorloth | Crystal Palace to Trabzonspor

Sorloth is living his best life out in Turkey with 12 goals in 17 league games.

Jonjoe Kenny | Everton to Schalke

Kenny is making the most out of his season-long loan at Schalke, making 19 appearances and making the right-back position his own.

Sandro Ramirez | Everton to Real Sociedad

Ramirez is quite fortunate to have made 14 appearances in La Liga for Real Sociedad given he’s scored just one goal.

Yannick Bolasie | Everton to Sporting

Bolasie has established himself as an important player for Sporting, helping the Portuguese side reach the knockout stages of the Europa League.

Ademola Lookman | Everton to RB Leipzig

Lookman has managed just three Bundesliga appearances for RB Leipzig this season.

The 22-year-old has been linked with a move to Newcastle United but the Geordies have been quoted more than £22.5 million to sign him, according to the Northern Echo.

Idrissa Gana Gueye | Everton to PSG

Gueye ran the show when PSG defeated Real Madrid in the Champions League in September and that wasn’t his only standout display for the French champions.

He has resumed his role as a starter in Thomas Tuchel’s midfield after a recent hamstring injury.

PSG will be very happy with their £29m outlay.

Islam Slimani | Leicester to Monaco

Slimani’s spell in England was miserable but he’s rediscovered his form with Monaco.

The Algerian has scored six goals and provided seven assists in Ligue 1.

Adrien Silva | Leicester to Monaco

Silva has played in all but three of Monaco’s Ligue 1 matches this season.

Daniel Sturridge | Liverpool to Trabzonspor

Sturridge is enjoying the chance to be the leading man once again with seven goals for Trabzonspor, including four in his past three matches.

A return to England wouldn’t be very surprising.

Alberto Moreno | Liverpool to Villarreal

The first half of the season was tough for Moreno, who battled ankle and calf injuries and was limited to just three league appearances before the winter break.

He’ll look to kick on after playing 30 minutes in a 2-1 win against Real Sociedad last week.

Simon Mignolet | Liverpool to Club Brugge

Thirty appearances, 16 clean sheets.

Mignolet is loving life back in his homeland, starring for the Belgian league leaders.

Vincent Kompany | Manchester City to Anderlecht

Kompany’s spell as Anderlecht’s player-manager was brief after he led the Belgian giants to their worst start to a league campaign since 1998/99, with two defeats and two draws.

The centre-back now serves as the club’s captain.

Danilo | Manchester City to Juventus

The Brazilian serves as Juan Cuadrado’s backup in Turin but he’s stepped up when called upon, scoring on his debut against Napoli last August.

Eliaquim Mangala | Manchester City to Valencia

Mangala has hardly played for Valencia since joining them in the summer on a two-year deal.

He’s made just three appearances - the last coming on December 10.

Ander Herrera | Manchester United to PSG

Injuries have hurt Herrera this season, restricting him to 12 appearances.

He’s yet to score for the French giants.

Antonio Valencia | Manchester United to L.D.U. Quito

Valencia won the Copa Ecuador with his new club in November but there are reports that he could leave L.D.U. Quito soon, with a return to England possibly on the horizon.

Romelu Lukaku | Manchester United to Inter Milan

Lukaku has rediscovered his best form in Italy, scoring 16 goals in 23 league and Champions League appearances.

Inter Milan are top of Serie A and they have one of the most in-form strikers in the world right now.

Matteo Darmian | Manchester United to Parma

Darmian has proven to be a decent addition for Parma, featuring regularly at right-back and helping Parma reach seventh in the table.

Alexis Sanchez | Manchester United to Inter Milan

Sanchez’s full debut for Inter Milan was a rollercoaster ride.

He scored in the match but was later sent off after picking up a second yellow card for diving.

His season has been held back by an ankle injury he picked up while playing for Chile in October. He hasn’t played since then.

Chris Smalling | Manchester United to Roma

Smalling has enjoyed an impressive revival at Roma.

Indeed, the Italian club’s team manager Morgan De Sanctis confirmed in December that they are trying to make the English defender’s loan move from Man United permanent.

Whether that happens remains to be seen but regardless, Smalling’s form has been one of the best storylines of the season.

Mohamed Diame | Newcastle to Al Ahli

Senegalese midfielder Diame signed for Doha-based Al Ahli after leaving Newcastle United at the end of last season.

He has made 12 appearances for Al Ahli, who are ninth in the 12-team Qatar Stars League.

Lucas Perez | West Ham to Deportivo

It’s been a record-breaking season for Perez, who became the first player in La Liga history to score in seven consecutive games for two different clubs.

He’s netted eight league goals in 19 appearances in total.

Jordy Clasie | Southampton to AZ Alkmaar

Clasie has helped to take AZ Alkmaar to second in the Eredivise table.

He’s made 21 appearances for the club, although nearly half of those have come from off the bench.

Mohamed Elyounoussi | Southampton to Celtic

Elyounoussi enjoyed a real purple patch earlier in the season, scoring seven goals and proving six assists in 13 appearances.

But a foot injury has kept the Norway forward out since November.

Kieran Trippier | Tottenham to Atletico Madrid

Trippier has been superb under the guidance of Diego Simeone, becoming a permanent fixture at right-back for Atletico Madrid.

He’s provided four assists in all competitions and his form has earned him a recall to the England setup.

Vincent Janssen | Tottenham to Monterrey

Janssen has netted 10 goals for Monterrey and was a part of the side that won the Liga MX Apertura in December.

Georges-Kevin Nkoudou | Tottenham to Besiktas

This season has been a frustrating one for Nkoudou so far.

He’s featured in just 15 games for Besiktas, with a thigh problem causing him to miss nine matches.

The 24-year-old did, however, score on his most recent outing in a 4-1 win over Genclerbirligi last month.

Marcus Edwards | Tottenham to Vitoria

Edwards may now be playing in Portugal but he’s still managed to make a name for himself in north London this season.

The midfielder scored for Vitoria against Arsenal in their Europa League tie at the Emirates Stadium in October.

Edwards has four goals in 18 appearances and according to Portuguese publication Record, Jose Mourinho has been monitoring his recent performances.

Edimilson Fernandes | West Ham to Mainz 05

The Swiss midfielder has been a regular for Mainz this season although he’s yet to get on the scoresheet.

Marko Arnautovic | West Ham to Shanghai SIPG

Arnautovic has run wild in China, scoring nine goals in 11 Chinese Super League matches.

He netted four goals and provided an assist in a 6-0 win over Shenzhen FC in the final game of the season.

Pedro Obiang | West Ham to Sassuolo

The defensive midfielder has been a regular for Serie A side Sassuolo this season and netted his first goal for them last Sunday.

Reece Oxford | West Ham to Augsburg

Oxford’s spell in Germany has been rather frustrating.

He’s been limited to just eight appearances for Augsburg and hasn’t played for them since November 3.

According to The Sun, the Englishman is set to join Dutch side VVV-Venlo.

Javier Hernandez | West Ham to Sevilla

A move to Spain hasn’t reinvigorated Hernandez, who has netted just three times for Sevilla this season.

Samir Nasri | West Ham to Anderlecht

Nasri has been out since October with a hamstring injury.

Prior to his spell on the sidelines, the Frenchman scored twice for Anderlecht.

So, not everyone has been as successful as Lukaku, Smalling and Gueye have been.

You have to feel for Zappacosta and Musonda, whose seasons have been ruined by serious injuries.

The biggest disappointing, though, has been Hazard, who was expected to set La Liga alight.

The Belgian arrived at the Bernabeu overweight and injuries have really hurt him.

Perhaps we’ll see the real Hazard in the second half of the campaign.
