Arsenal had a brilliant first half against Crystal Palace. The Gunners were by far the better team and they went into the break 1-0 up thanks to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's 12th minute goal. But it all started to fall apart after the break.Jordan Ayew's deflected shot shortly after half-time saw Palace level the scores. And then Aubameyang was sent off for a nasty tackle on Max Meyer, reducing Arsenal to 10-men.

The Gabonese international was originally given a yellow card but VAR then changed it to a red.

Watch his challenge below:

VAR made the right call there. That was a really nasty tackle and he was rightfully sent off.

Aubameyang could have caused serious harm to Meyer but fortunately the German midfielder was able to carry on.

Despite many thinking VAR made the right call, passionate Arsenal fan Piers Morgan was not supportive of the decision.

"WHAT? Another pathetic VAR fiasco," he wrote on Twitter.

"That was a poor challenge but no malice intended & a booking at worst... ⁦@Aubameyang7⁩ is not a dirty player. Ridiculous."

There was perhaps no malice and Aubameyang isn't that sort of player.

But you cannot excuse someone who's just stamped down on someone's ankle in that manner. Intentional or not.

Despite the man disadvantage, Arsenal were actually the better team for the remainder of the game and could have won it when Nicolas Pepe struck the post.

But there would be no further goals and the game ended 1-1.

Arsenal remains in 10th with 28 points from 22 games, while Crystal Palace are a point and a position better off.
