Jurgen Klopp has created a relentless winning machine at Liverpool.

The reigning European champions look nailed on to win their first ever Premier League title this season after moving 16 points clear at the top of the table.

Saturday’s 1-0 win over Tottenham was their 20th league victory of the campaign from their 21st fixture. No team has ever done this before.

That’s right, Liverpool have broken the all-time record for the best start to a season in Europe’s top five leagues.

But can they expect to now go on and seal their first league title since 1990?

Nick Harris - @sportingintel on Twitter - has posted a list which ranks the best ever starts from clubs in Europe’s top five leagues.

And we thought we’d look to see how each team finished in these respective seasons…

It’s extremely hard to see any team stopping Klopp’s team, who are now 16 points clear in first place, between now and May.

Expect them to wrap up the title by April at the latest.

It would take a capitulation of unprecedented proportions for the Reds not to win this season’s Premier League title.

They now have a golden opportunity to cement their status as the best team the Premier League has ever seen.
