Football in the 2000s, 2010s and possibly even the 2020s will, above all, be remembered for the dominance of two of the greatest players the sport has ever seen.Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have set new levels of excellence over the past 15 years and it’s hard to see their achievements ever being replicated.More world-class players will emerge over the coming years but it would be remarkable if any of them come close to matching the achievements of Messi and Ronaldo, who are still arguably the top two footballers on the planet right now.But will any of their children go on to become star players in their own right?Messi has three boys: Thiago, Mateo and Ciro. Ronaldo, meanwhile, has four children: Cristiano Jr, Mateo, Eva Maria and Alana Martina.

Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, who was born in June 2010, has made plenty of headlines in recent years for his performances at youth level.

He’s been busy smashing it for Juventus’s Under-9s team recently, scoring plenty of goals and impressing in various tournaments.

Thiago Messi is a couple of years younger than Ronaldo’s eldest son.

He was born in November 2012 and recently celebrated his seventh birthday.

But he loves his football and regularly watches his famous dad play at Camp Nou.

A video of the youngster is currently doing the rounds on social media. It shows him scoring a goal for Barcelona’s youth team, showing impressive pace and control before finishing with, wait for it… his *right* foot!

Yep, it seems Thiago hasn’t inherited his father’s magic wand of a left foot, which is a bit disappointing.

Still, he looks pretty handy with his right foot.

Who knows, maybe one day, perhaps in the 2030s, we might have a second Messi v Ronaldo rivalry.

Both lads will be under ridiculous pressure to live up to expectations if they do make it as professional footballers.

You don’t envy either of them having to follow in the footsteps of their legendary dads.

For the time being, let’s hope they both continue to enjoy playing football like any other normal young kid.
