WWE exclusive: Tyler Bate and Trent Seven on Royal Rumble and meeting The Undertaker

Tyler Bate and Jordan Devlin stole the show at NXT TakeOver: Blackpool II last weekend.

Their match was absolutely brilliant, with the pair putting on a wrestling clinic for 22 minutes.

It was so good that Triple H came from backstage to watch with the rest of the crowd, before giving his two superstars a standing ovation at the end.

Yet, high praise is nothing new for Bate.

Last August, he faced WALTER for the WWE UK Championship at TakeOver Cardiff, wrestling for 42 minutes in what many fans believed was a Match of the Year contender.

Bate has bags of talent, that's clear to see. In fact, many are now questioning when we'll see the 22-year-old make an appearance either at a big pay-per-view event.

Surely it can't be too long and the Royal Rumble especially offers UK stars like Tyler a huge opportunity to test themselves against WWE's main roster talent.

So, will he be part of the iconic match this year? After another brilliant match and a standing ovation from Triple H, now seems like the perfect time.

Bate wants a spot in the Royal Rumble

We won't know for sure until the night of course, but Bate himself is certainly hopeful of making an appearance.

"I’ve said every year for the last three years that I’d like to compete in the Royal Rumble or Andre the Giant Battle Royale. I’m hoping if I keep saying it, it will happen!

"They’re historical, monumental matches. Why would you not want to be in them?"

Bate's tag team partner, Trent Seven, also has hopes of competing in the Royal Rumble one day.

"When you speak to your old school mates and they say ‘oh I hear you’re a wrestler, what have you done?’ and you say the Royale Rumble, everyone knows the Royal Rumble," he said.

Bate and Seven both have Rumble aspirations

"It’s like telling people you’ve met The Undertaker, if you tell them that, or that you’ve been in the Royal Rumble, in the eyes of anyone who’s heard the word wrestling, that’s validation."

So, Trent Seven wants to cross the Rumble off his list soon, but what about the other big validation? Has he met 'Taker yet?

"Oh yeah! We had a lengthy, lengthy chat about Japanese wrestling," he says.

Trent also revealed he's met The Undertaker

That's certainly not bad validation. We won't know for sure if Moustache Mountain will compete in the Royal Rumble until the night.

But this year, perhaps more than ever, it would make sense for NXT UK stars to be involved.
