Sadio Mane is the best winger in the world at the moment.

The Senegalese international had an outstanding 2019, where he managed 30 goals in all competitions for Liverpool.

He also helped his side win the Champions League and capped off the year by finishing fourth in the Ballon d'Or.

But has Mane been the best winger in the Premier League this season?

We've listed every winger in England's top tier who has played at least 400 minutes this season.

And we've used statistics provided by WhoScored.com to rank 54 eligible wingers from worst to best.

54. Aaron Lennon - 6.09

53. Max Meyer - 6.26

52. Theo Walcott - 6.31

51. Christian Atsu - 6.34

Lennon was once one of the most feared wingers in the Premier League during his time at Tottenham.

Now 32, Lennon has lost the pace he was renowned for and, statistically, has been the worst player in his position this season.

Walcott is another who has regressed in recent years as he has gotten older.

50. Reiss Nelson - 6.36

49. Pedro Neto - 6.39

48. Mason Greenwood - 6.40

47. Bukayo Saka - 6.44

46. Demarai Gray - 6.44

This batch of five are all talented young players.

Greenwood is naturally a striker but has been deployed mostly on the right when he has featured for United.

Although his rating is not high at all, he's still managed four Premier League goals, which is a decent return given his limited opportunities.

Nelson and Saka have also not been rated highly but they both have bright futures at Arsenal.

45. Pablo Fornals - 6.49

44. Ryan Fraser - 6.49

43. Onel Hernandez - 6.53

42. Andriy Yarmolenko - 6.54

41. Callum Hudson-Odoi - 6.55

Fornals has been better of late but West Ham would have expected more from their £24 million summer signing.

Fraser has been a disappointment for Bournemouth. The Scottish winger was among the best in the league last season but has struggled to replicate that form.

Hudson-Odoi has a bright future ahead of him but he still has to improve a lot if he wants to be a Chelsea regular.

40. Alex Iwobi - 6.57

39. Harry Wilson - 6.62

38. Leandro Trossard - 6.62

37. Andros Townsend - 6.66

36. Miguel Almiron - 6.66

Everton signed Iwobi for an eye-watering £34 million in the summer. With just one Premier League goal so far, it's fair to say that move has not paid off just yet.

Wilson has been a decent buy for Bournemouth, having netted six times in England's top tier.

He's on pace to score 10 Premier League goals this season, which is a decent return for a struggling side.

Almiron scored his first Newcastle goal three weeks ago and since then he's scored three more times.

35. Bernard - 6.67

34. Trézéguet - 6.68

33. Harvey Barnes - 6.69

32. Todd Cantwell - 6.69

31. Nathan Redmond - 6.71

Cantwell has been a revelation for Norwich this season.

The English winger only managed 24 games in the Championship last season, where he scored just once.

But he impressed on his Premier League debut against Liverpool and has been a regular ever since. In 22 games this season, he's scored six times.

If Norwich do end up going down, don't be surprised if a Premier League club decides to sign him.

30. Solly March - 6.73

29. Johann Gudmundsson - 6.73

28. Diogo Jota - 6.73

27. Eric Lamela - 6.75

26. Ismaila Sarr - 6.77

Jota has not hit the heights he did last season, only managing three Premier League goals for Wolves in 2019/20.

Watford reportedly paid £30 million for Sarr this summer; a huge amount of money for a relegation threatened side.

But he's been in fine form in recent weeks and, at just 21 years old, is only going to get better.

25. Anwar El Ghazi - 6.78

24. Daniel James - 6.79

23. Lucas Moura - 6.81

22. Robert Snodgrass - 6.81

21. Pascal Groß - 6.82

James has been decent in his debut season at Man United, managing three goals and six assists in England's top tier.

El Ghazi and Snodgrass have both been good for struggling sides this season.

20. Ayoze Perez - 6.87

19. Moussa Djenepo - 6.88

18. Gerard Deulofeu - 6.91

17. Dwight McNeil - 6.98

16. Allan Saint-Maximin - 7.06

Perez has directly contributed to 10 goals since his big money move from Newcastle this summer.

Deulofeu and McNeil have been Watford and Burnley's best attackers respectively this season.

Perez's replacement at Newcastle, Saint-Maximin, is one of the most exciting wingers in the league and is enjoying a fine debut season in the Premier League.

15. Christian Pulisic - 7.08

14. Nicolas Pepe - 7.13

13. Wilfried Zaha - 7.14

12. Felipe Anderson - 7.18

11. Bernardo Silva - 7.19

After a slow start, Pulisic has gone into his own and has begun to show why Chelsea paid £58m for him.

Pepe has been criticised since his big money move to Arsenal, having only managed three goals and three assists in the Premier League.

Stats show he hasn't been as bad as many have made him out to be.

Zaha has again been Crystal Palace's best player this season. A move to a big club is surely on the horizon.

10. Son Heung-min - 7.24

9. Emiliano Buendia - 7.31

8. Marcus Rashford - 7.34

7. Mohamed Salah - 7.36

6. Raheem Sterling - 7.36

Buendia is yet to score for Norwich this season but has recorded seven assists. His average rating of 7.31 is brilliant for a club rooted to the bottom of the Premier League.

Rashford has been mostly deployed on the left-wing this season but is having a breakout season.

The English forward has notched 14 goals and five assists in the league this campaign.

Salah and Sterling cannot be separated when it comes to their average rating.

5. Willian - 7.36

4. Jack Grealish - 7.37

3. Sadio Mane - 7.61

2. Adama Traore - 7.72

1. Riyad Mahrez - 7.72

Willian has his critics at Chelsea but stats show that is unwarranted. He's recorded four goals and five assists and has been rated the fifth best winger in the league this season.

Aston Villa are currently in the relegation zone but it would have been a lot worse without their club captain, Grealish. Six goals and six assists is a fine return.

Mane is one of the main contenders for Premier League Player of the Season but has only been the third best rated winger.

He's eclipsed by Traore, who Jetro Willems admitted was 'harder to stop than Cristiano Ronaldo' earlier this week.

And Mahrez takes top spot. The Algerian has only made 11 starts this term but has weighed in with seven goals and nine assists.

When you ask someone who is the best winger in the Premier League, most football fans would say Sterling, Salah or Mane.

But it's Mahrez who has been the best in his position when it comes to stats.

Mahrez isn't a regular at City but has been sensational when called upon. It may be time for Pep Guardiola to give him a more prominent role in the side.
