Riyad Mahrez has finally arrived at Manchester City after a sub-par debut season with the Premier League champions. The Algerian struggled for game time in 2018/19, but he has come into his own this campaign for the Citizens. In his 18 Premier League games in 2019/20, Mahrez has scored seven goals and notched seven assists.According to WhoScored, only teammate Kevin De Bruyne (7.96) boasts a higher rating this season than Mahrez - who is tied on 7.72 with Wolves' Adama Traore. Not bad, Riyad, not bad.

Guardiola has remained positive about the Algerian throughout his time at City, even when he wasn't playing regularly.

The Spaniard was once again full of praise for the 28-year-old after City's 6-1 demolition of Aston Villa on Sunday, where Mahrez scored twice.

However, he kind of threw some shade on the former Leicester man when doing so.

Speaking about how Mahrez is seemingly never injured, Guardiola stated that the reason is because Mahrez has 'no muscle in his legs'.

"The difference last season and this season is he plays more minutes because the manager is more kind to him," the City boss told the media after the game at Villa Park.

"The level he played last season was good too. He loves to play football.

"You see his legs it is impossible to be injured because he has no muscles. The final third he has something special, always I have the feeling he can score a goal."

So there you have it folks, all those messages about never skipping leg day were completely false.

Mahrez is out here turning in worldie performances in the Premier League sporting a pair of chopsticks, iconic.

If you would like some evidence of how stick thin Mahrez's legs actually are, Leicester kindly did the honours back in the summer of 2016.

Shame he doesn't have much to show for his love...
