Conor McGregor has revealed who he thinks will emerge victorious from the upcoming blockbuster rematch between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder.

‘The Gypsy King’ goes to war with the WBC champion on February 22 after their controversial but thrilling initial encounter in 2018 which ended in a draw.

McGregor returns to action in Vegas himself this weekend at UFC 246, where he will fight Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone in what many believe will be a tricky contest for the Irishman, after 15 months removed from the Octagon.

Despite his immensely busy schedule on fight week, ‘The Notorious’ managed to announce his prediction for the upcoming heavyweight clash that everyone in the sporting world is talking about.

“He’s got a good tough fight, Deontay is a powerful guy,” McGregor told BT Sport about Fury.

“But I think if he keeps his mind strong and keeps his playfulness in there and his sharpness and his elusiveness, I think he can do the job.”

Fury has expressed an interest in MMA after dabbling in the world of WWE last year.

The 31-year-old even stated in an interview last year that he had spoken to McGregor at length and insisted that the two-weight UFC champion was willing to train him.

However, the Irishman revealed he was baffled to hear of Fury’s revelation and even accused the giant Mancunian of fabricating the entire story.

“Tyson keeps saying we have spoken and that I have said that I would train him, but I have never spoken to Tyson in my life,” said McGregor, per SecondsOut.com.

“It’s not a bad little story though, so I let it roll.

“Tyson’s a good man, I like him. He’s probably the best natural boxer in the heavyweight division at this time.

“So, who knows? I wouldn’t say he is just saying he’d do it and not do it, like a lot of them do. I would say Tyson would probably do it in time.

“I’d need him to spar a heavyweight, to see him deal with leg kicks, to see him in bottom position and then I’d assess that and send him off.

“I would tell him what work he needs to do then off he goes. That would probably be something I could do for Tyson, but I found it funny him saying we talked.”
