Kurt Angle has tipped Velveteen Dream to be called up to either RAW or SmackDown Live very soon.

The WWE Hall of Famer is working closely with young talent as a backstage producer and he even expects the NXT star to main event very quickly.

"I would like to see Velveteen Dream breakout this year," Angle exclusively told GIVEMESPORT.

"He’s an incredible athlete, his character is very likeable. Someone like him could step on the scene and main-event very quickly."

The American hero also explained how hard Dream has worked to even get into NXT after suffering setbacks early in his career.

"I’ve known Patrick Clark [Velveteen Dream] since 2011," Angle continued.

"I remember him in a small independent company trying to make it and I saw something great in him. I thought I’m going to keep in touch with this kid and I did.

"He was part of Tough Enough where he didn’t win and he was let go, then the company eventually brought him back.

"He's found his edge in the Velveteen Dream and he’s becoming more popular every day. I expect him to be called up soon."

It's great to hear that those backstage are keeping an eye on breakout talent. There are very few NXT stars who deserve a call-up ahead of The Dream either.

He's been absolutely brilliant for WWE's development brand since debuting in 2017.

If Velveteen Dream is called up to either SmackDown or RAW in the near future, hopefully, he'll be given a fair crack.

We've seen plenty of former NXT stars struggle on the main roster, but Dream has far too much talent to be wasted. Luckily, it seems like he's got a WWE Hall of Famer on his side.
