Conor Mcgregor will make his long-awaited return to the octagon when he comes to blows with Donald Cerrone at UFC 246.

The return of the infamous Irishman promises to be quite the spectacle, with McGregor looking in the best shape of his life at the moment.

Fans have also been treated to a far more humble and subdued demeanour, with McGregor exuding an almost eery and ominous certainty in all his recent media commitments.

There is no questioning the fact that the bout with Cerrone is an underwhelming prospect, with McGregor clearly looking to ease himself back into the game before securing a so-called mega-fight.

However, it does represent an opportunity to show off the new Conor, as he bids to send a message to the big names in the UFC.

There is one fight, however, that fans will be desperate for in 2020 - a rematch between McGregor and his previous conqueror Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Nurmagomedov shocked the world when he submitted McGregor in their first bout in 2018 as he truly announced himself on the global stage.

Now, fight fans are calling for a rematch and recent comments from Dana White suggest it might be closer to being confirmed than we initially thought.

“He’s been chomping at the bit for the Khabib rematch. I think it’s no big secret,” White said of McGregor, ahead of UFC 246

“If he wins this weekend, he’ll get that shot at the title and it will be the biggest pay-per-view ever in UFC history.”

Well there you have it - a McGregor win on Saturday night and we could be in for one of the biggest fights in history.

If White is already claiming it will be the biggest selling bout ever, you can only imagine the eye-watering figures that will come out in the aftermath of the match-up.

With all the bad blood between the two parties, it will easily be the most explosive fight of the century.

Get it done, Dana.
