Tyson Fury has recently claimed he only has three fights left in the tank.
The Gypsy King, who has a remarkable undefeated professional boxing record with only one controversial draw against fellow giant and heavy hitter Deontay Wilder, is a truly eccentric character, and so it could be argued that a lot of what he says should be taken with a pinch of salt.
However, if he is serious about hanging up his gloves after just three more fights, it would appear that he wants to cement his legacy as a true boxing great.
Speaking in a recent interview with iFL TV, Fury revealed that he wants to fight Wilder, Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte in his final three bouts.
Wilder is an obvious super-fight with history between the two and a well-publicised rivalry, however, either fighter has yet to dominate the other; nor win via unanimous decision, KO or TKO.

As well as Wilder, there is of course the name on every boxing fan’s lips – Anthony Joshua.
The pair have never fought and depending on the outcome of the Wilder fight, if Fury was successful and providing Joshua keeps all three belts; we may have a unification bout on our hands for the first time since Lennox Lewis became champion.
On Whyte, Fury noted that: “He’s been mandatory for 2000 days and hasn’t had a shot. When I beat Wilder, I’ll give him a shot.”
Of course, at present it’s all purely speculation and as we are all fully aware, money talks; so it’s difficult to determine how serious we should take these most recent claims for Fury.
However, he would be sorely missed and leave a massive hole in the current heavyweight division were he to call it quits.
Fury is in good physical condition currently and seems to be able to go for as long as he wants to go; his boxing record speaks for itself, and many would argue that he still has more to prove – fingers crossed he doesn’t throw in the towel just yet as there are brilliants match-ups still to be had.
