Conor McGregor made an impressive return to the Octagon by beating experienced American Donald Cerrone in just 40 seconds at UFC 246 on Saturday evening.Sports Business Reporter Darren Rovell pointed out via his Twitter account that it took one minute 37 seconds for the Irishman to walk out to the iconic Irish ballad ‘Foggy Dew’, which is actually twice as long as it took for him to knock out Cerrone.Rovell also revealed that a sub-60 second win by McGregor paid 10/1 at PointsBet Sportsbook (@PointsBetUSA).Speaking after the fight, McGregor said: “I made history here, I set another record: I’m the first fighter in UFC history to secure victories at featherweight, at lightweight and now at welterweight, so I’m very proud of that.”The conversations have already started on whom McGregor could fight next, with welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and ‘BMF’ champion Jorge Masvidal both in the mix.

A possible lucrative rematch with Floyd Mayweather under boxing rules has also been rumoured after the unbeaten American posted a graphic of a fight poster on his Instagram account.

There's also the Khabib Nurmagomedov rematch that will certainly be discussed now that 'Notorious' is back and competing.

Another iconic boxer Manny Pacquiao has also been talked about as a potential opponent either later in 2020 or in the early part of 2021, so it's clear to see the options are endless for McGregor.

McGregor has himself previously said on record that he’d like the fight and one of his goals is to become a world champion in boxing.

One thing, however, is clear; the Irishman is certainly not short of confidence.

When asked about his next opponent, McGregor said: “Any one of these little mouthy fools can get it.”

It's now very clear that Conor McGregor is back, and this Conor McGregor means business.
