It took Conor McGregor less than one minute to see off Donald Cerrone at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas this weekend. The Irishman, in his first fight since losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2018, defeated “Cowboy” after just 40 seconds.McGregor landed a brutal left kick on his American opponent and then finished the job with a flurry of punches. This was the 22nd victory of the 31-year-old’s illustrious career and the perfect way to silence both his critics and doubters."I made history tonight. I set a new record,” McGregor told reporters, per BBC Sport, after his latest win. “I’m the first fighter in UFC history to secure knockout victories at featherweight, at lightweight and now at welterweight - across three weight divisions, so I'm very proud of that.”

For one celebrity, however, McGregor’s victory ended up costing him *a lot* of money.

Dan Bilzerian, for those of you who don’t know, is a poker place and extremely famous on the internet.

Nicknamed ‘the ‘Instagram King’ - a fair label, given the fact he boasts a whopping 29.8 million followers on the social media platform, Bilzerian posted a photo hours before the fight showing himself next to a table full of cash.

The 39-year-old added: “Puttin some pocket change on @cowboycerrone who y’all got?”

This video was also posted to social media…

As a professional gambler, Bilzerian is presumably used to both winning and losing large amounts of money.

But losing this amount of cash - estimated to be around the $1 million mark - inside the opening minute of the fight must have hurt!

In fairness to Bilzerian, he was able to laugh it off shortly after the fight had ended.

He tweeted to his 1.6 million followers: “Haha s***”.

You can say that again, Dan.

Still, $1 million isn’t all that much to a man reportedly worth around $200 million.

We’re sure he’ll get over it!
