Marcus Rashford has been the standout player at Manchester United this season. The 22-year-old has bagged 14 goals in the Premier League and another five in other competitions.Simply put, United are relying on Rashford to drive them forward as they look to move up the table. But things took a nervous turn in midweek as United played their FA Cup replay against Wolves.Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side did win the game 1-0, progressing through to the fourth round of the FA Cup.

But a decision to introduce Rashford from the bench on 60 minutes now looks like a risk he didn't need to take.

Rashford has been carrying a back injury and started the game as a substitute.

But he was off again just 16 minutes after coming on - with a back injury.

There was instant worry at United over how long their star forward would be out of action and it now looks as though Rashford will be absent for 2-3 months.

That's because Rashford, who went into the game at Old Trafford with a single stress fracture in his back, now has a double stress fracture.

That's according to Henry Winter who says Rashford has been 'playing through immense pain' to help his team out recently.

This was the worst-case scenario when Solskjaer introduced the England forward on Wednesday but it has come true.

Was it worth it? Well, in hindsight, absolutely not and Rashford clearly needed rest rather than game time.

And now United will need to cope without their main goalscorer for at least the next couple of months.
