Chris Jericho is currently leading the hottest faction in AEW right now, and arguably the hottest faction in wrestling right now as well, The Inner Circle.

During a recent interview, Jericho revealed that The Inner Circle is the first faction he has been a part of in wrestling, but he was considered for another big name faction in the past, the nWo.

While the AEW World Champion was being asked about The Inner Circle by reporter Jim Varsallone, he revealed that he was asked to join the nWo during his time with WCW in 1998, but he turned down the opportunity.

Jericho explained he turned down joining the nWo because there were too many people in the stable already, so they didn't need him as well.

He said, via Wrestling Inc: "It's also the first time I've ever been in a faction. There's a reason for that, I don't play well with others. I never really wanted that.

"I remember back in '98, one of the suggestions was for me to be in nWo and I was like absolutely not. There's 15 guys in the nWo. They don't need me and I don't need them.

"For the Inner Circle, it enhances my character, our storylines, and gave five very talented individuals a much bigger platform and got them over to a much bigger degree as well."

It was probably a good idea for Jericho to pass on the nWo, as the group got way bigger than it should have during its run in WCW in the late 1990s.

When the nWo initially started, it was just Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall. However, through the group's existence, 62 different people joined the group.

Jericho certainly won't be following the same mistakes as the leader of The Inner Circle in AEW, a group that currently consists of himself, Sammy Guevara, Jake Hager, and Santana & Ortiz.
