In unfortunate circumstances, leading neurosurgeon Nicola Acciari has announced that Michael Schumacher’s condition has ‘deteriorated’ following his tragic skiing accident.

The accident occurred in December 2013, when the legend of F1 fell and hit his head whilst skiing off-piste in the French Alps.

However, since the accident, updates on Schumacher’s well-being have been minimal, but he is now out of a coma and is receiving care at his home in Lake Geneva.

Acciari, however, has stated that the former F1 star is no longer the man he once was by telling Diario Uno, as per The Mirror: “We must imagine a person very different from the one we remember on the track, with a very altered and deteriorated organic, muscular and skeletal structure.

"All as a result of the brain trauma he suffered."

Schumacher’s former manager Jean Todt recently confirmed that he’d visited Michael last year to watch a Grand Prix with him.

He said that he’s always careful with ‘such statements’, but that he had been to visit the legendary figure at his home in Switzerland.

He commented on Schumacher’s health back then by stating: "Michael is in the best hands and is well looked after in his house. He does not give up and keeps fighting."

Schumacher still currently holds the all-time record for F1 world titles, but his record could be equalled by Lewis Hamilton if he is triumphant by bringing in his seventh world title next season.

Hamilton has made it clear already that he intends on doing so after saying: “I’m going to be a machine this year, on another lever than ever before.”

Further stating that things were going very well for himself at this moment of time and that no one can predict how long it would stay that way for him. He also mentioned that he still feels within his peak and that he won’t be retiring anytime soon.

Will this be the season Hamilton equals Schumacher’s record?

One thing all Formula 1 fans want, however, is the best for Schumacher and his recovery. Keep on fighting, Champ!
