It seems an age away, but when Paul Pogba finally returns for Manchester United, keep an eye out for his footwear.

The Frenchman has been modelling Adidas Predators as they re-launch a new edition in January 2020.

Now even on paper, the 'Predator 20 Mutator' would be enough to get most footballers salivating, whether that's professionals or amateurs.

When you consider the history behind the iconic boots, worn by legends of the game like Zinedine Zidane, David Beckham and Steven Gerrard, the news that they're making another comeback is even more exciting.

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen will also be donning a pair, as will Manchester City's Tessa Wullaert and US Women's international Becky Sauerbrunn.

If anything, the new Predators are vastly improved in terms of playing experience, not just design, utilising cutting edge design feature 'DEMONSKIN'.

The inclusion of 406 DEMONSKIN spikes on the front and side of the boot increases grip and ball control, as well as adding spin when striking the ball.

These spikes are wrapped around the outside specifically to align to key points likely to make contact with the ball.

Adidas describe them as "synonymous with footballing excellence".

Off the ball, "high-performance polyamide-injected layers" help stability when running and speaking of which, the Hybrid studs themselves are in five groups of two, reducing weight and encouraging rotation.

Best of all, each pair wraps around the individual player's foot thanks to a Sockfit collar that adjusts to provide support.

The Pogba range are available from £129, so not cheap, but definitely an investment.

The range are indeed synonymous with Zidane helping France to the World Cup and some of Beckham's best years at Manchester United.

It's time for a new generation to make the same kind of history.
