Cris Cyborg has already made history in the past, but she promises this Saturday’s clash against Julia Budd will be one the fans remember forever.

The 34-year-old Brazilian-American fighter has fought across multiple promotions in the past, including UFC and Invicta FC but is currently signed with Bellator.

She is a former UFC, Invicta and Strikeforce champion and is the only female fighter to hold world championships across three major mixed martial arts promotions.

These career highs however have often been overshadowed by doping allegations and suspension. In 2011, Cyborg tested positive for stanozolol, an anabolic steroid and had her licence suspended.

Her last fight came against Felicia Spencer at UFC 240 in July 2019, where she won a unanimous points decision to take her record to 21 wins and just 2 losses.

This Saturday, Cyborg takes on Julia Budd in Inglewood, California for the women’s featherweight belt.

Budd is the inaugural and current featherweight champion and is the third in the pound-for-pound rankings of female MMA fighters. Cyborg is therefore excited for how entertaining the spectacle promises to be.

“I have trained hard and Julia Budd is a long time undefeated champion coming to prove something to the world. This will be a must-watch fight.”

The fight will headline Bellator 238, with 15 fights in total happening on the night, where Cyborg will be hoping to win a belt for an unprecedented fourth different promotion!
