Conor McGregor’s whiskey company made more money than his return to the Octagon at the weekend at UFC 246, according to International Business Times.

McGregor beat Donald Cerrone in 40 seconds in his first fight since late 2018, but his purse for the bout was not as much as his other business ventures.

The Dublin-born fighter took home $3 million, whereas Cerrone 'The Cowboy' took home $200,000, which was the event's second-highest purse.

McGregor owns the company Proper No.12 Whiskey and it earned over one billion dollars in its first year.

The whiskey was named after the place McGregor grew up, Crumlin Dublin 12, and it is marketed as proper whiskey from his home town.

According to the drink’s website, 'it embodies their shared spirit of brotherhood, loyalty, and hard work.'

Although despite the enormity of the money that his whiskey company is bringing in, he’s still confident that he’ll get money from his sport.

In an interview with ESPN before the fight, the 31-year-old was confident that he’ll be getting a hefty purse and thinks it could be his highest that he’ll be receiving in his MMA career.

“I’d say about, it could be, I’m estimating a good $80million. They think I am toast, but I’m still the bread,” said McGregor.

McGregor earned $76,250 per-second and took home a disclosed amount of at least $3 million, per Nevada State Athletic Commission.

He also received an additional $50,000 for the fight being named as the “Performance of the Night”.

The estimated $3million that he earned didn’t include pay-per-view shares and any discretionary bonuses from the UFC.
