Manchester United are in crisis again following Wednesday’s 2-0 home defeat to Burnley.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is rapidly losing the faith of many United fans, looked totally dejected in his post-match press conference.
The under-fire Norwegian coach watched on helplessly as his side conceded goals either side of half-time to Chris Wood and Jay Rodriguez.
United have now registered their worst points tally after 23 Premier League games since 1990.
They find themselves six points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, 30 points behind league-leaders Liverpool, and just 11 points above the relegation zone.
- Man Utd are a shambles under Solskjaer right now
- Tahith Chong to leave Man Utd for free
- Cristiano Ronaldo scores again - he's on fire
For a club as big and as proud as Man Utd, these are unacceptable stats - yet it seems that Solskjaer will remain the man in charge at the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ for the foreseeable future.
Solskjaer, along with the equally under-fire Ed Woodward, is under pressure to strengthen the squad before the winter transfer window closes next Friday.
And one fan, talkSPORT presenter Andy Goldstein, spoke passionately about the Red Devils in the aftermath of the Burnley match, suggesting the club has just nine days left to save itself.
“Manchester United, as a club, have got nine days to save themselves - because that’s how long the transfer window is open for. That squad is depleted. We haven’t had any proper backing for a long, long time,” Goldstein said.
“If United are going to save themselves - because the club’s dying before my eyes and the eyes of many Man Utd fans - they don’t just have to go out and get Bruno Fernandes…
“If Sporting want £55 million, knock on their door, give them £60 million and tell them to keep the change.
“Then what you do is you phone up Napoli and ask how much [Kalidou] Koulibaly is - I’m serious here. They ask for £100 million, you give them £105 million, pat them on the back and go: ‘go get yourself a drink’.
“Then you phone up either [Aston] Villa or Leicester and you say ‘how much is [Jack] Grealish, how much is [James] Maddison? £75 million? He’s £85 million’
“You keep doing this and buy four or five players. You go and get [Edinson] Cavani on loan. You pay him ridiculous amounts of money to score goals - £350,000-a-week.
“You need three, four, five players - not one, Bruno Fernandes is not the answer [on his own] - to get top four. It’s all about top four now. If United don’t get top four at the end of the season, the gap will get bigger and bigger and bigger. It’ll become more difficult to attract the biggest names to the club.
“Nine days to save Manchester United. If one player comes in, the club will continue to die. It’s as simple as that.”

As others have pointed out, these are big words from Goldstein, who appears on MUTV from time to time.
Whether he’ll be invited back after these comments remains to be seen.
But he’s earned the respect of his fellow United fans for speaking out publicly about the current state of the club.News Now - Sport News
