Eddie Hearn has revealed that he is in discussions to release a new boxing video game.
The Matchroom promoter was asked on Twitter whether a new boxing game was in the pipeline and Hearn’s reply sent his followers into a frenzy.
The latest mainstream boxing video game to be released was Fight Night Champion, and that came way back in 2011.
It was the most recent from publishers EA Sports and the fifth instalment of the Fight Night series which began in 2004.
The successful franchised followed it up with Round 2 in 2005, Round 3 in 2007 and Round 4 in 2009. Fighters such as Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson and Oscar de la Hoya have graced the cover.

Fans have been clambering for a sixth instalment of the game, with a follower sending Hearn artwork of what a new Fight Night game could look like.
The tweeter, named Delzinski, stated that the potential match engine would already be in place should the Fight Night series remain with EA Sports, due to their UFC releases.
Hearn cast his line on Twitter and fielded questions from his followers. He initially tweeted: “In the airport, what’s up Twitter?”
The response that caught flames was from Lloyd Sargeant, who replied: “A new boxing game wouldn’t go a miss!”
Hearn, much to fans’ delight, stated: “I’ve been trying on this for a while – hopefully this Year it can happen – would be huge.”
The frenzy then ensued, with followers demanding Tyson Fury be in the game as well as fans wanting a Matchroom versus DAZN style game.
Should the promised negotiations be successful, a potential Fight Night Round 5 or alternative could be released on the 10-year anniversary of the previous game.
With the PlayStation 5 due to be released by the end of 2020, any new boxing video game release, be it another instalment of Fight Night or otherwise, will likely be released on next-gen consoles.News Now - Sport News
