Conor McGregor's return to the bright lights of Las Vegas could not have gone any better. After over a year out of MMA following his controversial loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov, the Notorious announced his UFC return in style against Donald Cerrone. After less than a minute in the T-Mobile Arena, McGregor's hand was raised in victory after a stunning first-round knockout.Vicious shoulder strikes from the Irishman did the damage, with Cerrone unable to deal with the ferocity of his revitalised opponent.McGregor looked hungrier than ever and it was clear to see his more humble approach to proceedings both in the build-up to the fight and in the Octagon itself.

The UFC have now released some unseen footage from the event which highlights how respectful McGregor was of his opponent throughout.

Cameras picked up the Irishman telling Cowboy: "Donald, I love you. Those shoulder shots broke it eh?"

Those shoulder blows from McGregor have reportedly led to multiple fractures in Cerrone's face and the American could face six months out of action as a result.

As the video continues, McGregor is seen saying: "Great job, Donald. Respect Donald."

The Irishman then approaches Cerrone's grandmother, telling her: "I have much respect for you, so much respect for you. You raised a hell of a boy.

"You should be proud I'm serious."

Fair play, Conor.

The Irishman's career and personal life appeared to be spiralling out of control 12 months back, but he appears to have bounced back in the best possible way.

McGregor and his coach John Kavanagh will now be looking towards the future and the ultimate goal - a rematch with Khabib.

If that bout happens, it will likely shatter all pay-per-view records associated with the sport.

There's also potential for another super-fight against the hot property that is Jorge Masvidal. The year of 2020 is going to the huge for Dana White and the UFC!
