Liverpool stretched their advantage at the top of the Premier League table on Thursday with a hard-fought 2-1 win against Wolves.

Roberto Firmino’s strike in the 84th minute sealed the three points for Jurgen Klopp’s side - but some fans are have raised suspicions about Wolves’ Conor Coady’s role in the goal.

The centre-back attempted to close Firmino down when he lost his footing, giving the Brazilian the space he needed to lash home a left-footed shot.

And some fans - who are probably spewing at Liverpool’s imperious form - accused Coady, who once played for the Anfield club, of slipping on purpose.

It’s a bit of a stretch given 1) Coady is a professional footballer who is paid by Wolves to help them win football matches and 2) Firmino might still have been able to get a shot away had Coady not fallen.

But that hasn’t stopped a section of fans from pointing the finger at the 26-year-old defender.

One fan wrote: “Conor Coady should be investigated for match fixing because wtf is that?!”

Another added: “Coady remembered he’s a boyhood Liverpool fan & decided to sit down for Firmino ffs”.

It seems some fans are struggle to accept this Liverpool team being so good.

They moved a step closer to securing the Premier League title despite not being at their best at Molineux.

Jordan Henderson gave Klopp’s side the lead in the eighth minute but Raul Jimenez’s header early in the second half levelled the scores.

Wolves grew in confidence and continued to push forward but Liverpool fended them off and grabbed a late winner.

They now have a 16-point advantage over Manchester City and can extend that to 19 points when they travel to West Ham on January 29.

We’re witnessing sheer dominance.
