Khabib Nurmagomedov has fuelled speculation surrounding a potential future rematch with nemesis Conor McGregor following a social media post mocking Notorious. The unbeaten Russian has posted on Twitter three images of McGregor visibly getting choked out in the Octagon at three different weight-classes.The first being 170lbs, which features the monumental moment the Irishman was subdued by Nate Diaz at UFC 196 back in 2016.Then followed by a bit of gloating by the UFC lightweight champion at 155lbs, with the image showing Khabib’s arms wrapped around McGregor’s neck in 2018 which helped to deliver the win at UFC 229 in Las Vegas. The bottom photo attached to the Russian’s tweet was that of a young McGregor at 145lbs, being defeated via choke hold by fellow Irish fighter Joe Duffy at Fight Night 107 London in 2010.

Nurmagomedov was clearly making a mockery of a similar tweet posted by McGregor back in December 2019, entitled ‘170. 155. 145,’ which related to the fighter’s transformation throughout the weight classes.

It also possibly alluded to the famous Irish star going after Kamaru Usman’s 170lbs title having already held the other two during his career.

However, with the Russian publicly disrespecting McGregor like that, it is possible that a rematch between the two will come sooner rather than later?

UFC promoter Dana White noted back in December that there is still “bad blood” to settle between the two fighters, and has consistently admitted he's interested in booking the rematch.

McGregor also might be feeling following his remarkable 40-second knockout of Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone that he can reclaim his UFC lightweight belt off the waist of the unbeaten Nurmagomedov.

White even highlighted before his rodeo with the ‘Cowboy’ that if he had won, Notorious would be next in line.
