After 24 years, a Space Jam sequel is finally on the way next year with LeBron James replacing Michael Jordan in order to help the Looney Tunes win a basketball match. In the first film, Jordan teamed up with famous Looney Tunes characters to defeat a team of monsters that had stolen the talent of NBA players. And now, the basketball uniforms for the new film, plus the new LeBron 17 sneakers, were revealed, giving the fans the opportunity to grab a brand-new Space Jam kit and the sneakers for themselves.LeBron won’t be the only LA Lakers star in the film, however. He will be joined by Anthony Davis, whilst fellow basketball players Damian Lillard, Klay Thompson, Chris Paul and Diana Taurasi will also star.Besides the NBA stars, Don Cheadle has been confirmed for the cast, but there’s no word on what role he’ll play in the film.“No, I’m not playing myself. I actually can’t tell you what I’m playing,” he said.Despite the recent development, the film production hasn’t been easy, with LeBron struggling to find top players to star in the film during its early development.

Despite that, LeBron was happy to start the shooting of the Space Jam sequel.

He said in a tweet: “Man this really just hit me! I’m really shooting Space Jam 2! This is so surreal and doesn’t even make sense to me! Where I come from man and what I saw growing up this doesn’t add up to me!

“Im truly grateful and beyond blessed. This is craziness.”

Space Jam 2 will mark LeBron’s second high profile acting role, having previously cast on Amy Schumer’s “Trainwreck”, receiving high praise for his acting skills.

Space Jam 2 is set for release on July 16.
