Erling Haaland is probably breathing a huge sigh of relief that he didn’t sign for Manchester United. The former RB Salzburg striker was linked with a whole host of clubs but looked set to sign for United and reunite with his former manager at Molde, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. But, out of nowhere, the Norwegian wonderkid was pictured holding a Borussia Dortmund shirt with the German club having triggered his £18 million release clause.Haaland was having an incredible season in Austria and had notched 28 goals in 22 matches. He also bagged eight in the Champions League group stages.

So it shouldn’t really come as a surprise that the 19-year-old would take to the Bundesliga like a duck to water.

Not too many predicted he’d score a 23 minute hat-trick on his debut, though.

Haaland came on against Augsburg and helped his side come back from two goals down to win 5-3.

It still didn’t earn him a start in Dortmund’s next match, at home to Koln.

Instead, he had to be satisfied with being a 65th minute. That didn’t stop him bagging another two goals as Dortmund ran out 5-1 winners.

Five goals in 57 minutes for Haaland. Quite ridiculous.

And it brought up a rather brilliant statistic.

It means Haaland has now scored more league goals than Man Utd in 2020 (5-4).

Haaland has played 57 minutes, while United have played 360 minutes this year.

United have played four league game this year (2-0 defeat to Arsenal, 4-0 win vs Norwich, 2-0 defeat vs Liverpool and a 2-0 defeat to Burnley).

How they could do with Haaland right now.

Reckon the striker is happy with his decision right now? We think so...
