WWE's first pay-per-view of 2020, as well as their second biggest pay-per-view of the year, is set to take place this Sunday, the Royal Rumble.

The Royal Rumble is best known for the men's and women's Royal Rumble matches where the winner of each match will receive a world title opportunity at WrestleMania 36.

27 of the 30 superstars have confirmed themselves for the men's Rumble, including Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, AJ Styles, Drew McIntyre and Brock Lesnar, who will be entering the match at the number one spot.

Only nine of the 30 superstars have confirmed themselves for the women's Rumble so far, but some big names are already in the match including Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, Nikki Cross, and Natalya.

When the Royal Rumble takes place, fans will finally get an indication as to how WWE wants to book at least two of their biggest matches at WrestleMania 36 this year.

Eight matches have been booked for the Rumble so far, so there are plenty of other big storylines for WWE fans to salivate over.

Becky Lynch will be defending her Raw Women's Championship vs Asuka, 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt will put his Universal Championship on the line vs Daniel Bryan in a Strap match, and Roman Reigns will face King Corbin in a Falls Count Anywhere match.

Some big surprises are expected for the show too including the possible returns of Edge and CM Punk during the Rumble matches. Here's everything you need to know about the 2020 Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
