With the much-anticipated rematch between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder quickly approaching, one man who will be very interested to see the result of the fight, is Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn.

This comes after Joshua’s team has been rumoured to have on going talks with Wilder’s team about a potential fight between the two.

However, Wilder has recently denied that this is true.

With Fury and Wilder set to go at it again on February 22nd, Eddie Hearn has already made his choice on who he wants to be victorious.

Whilst speaking to iFL TV, Hearn revealed that he wanted ‘The Gypsy King’ Tyson Fury to defeat Wilder, stating that whilst he understood that ‘from a global fight perspective’ that AJ vs Wilder would be a momentous occasion, he then gives two reasons on why he wants Fury to win.

The first being that Hearn respects Tyson Fury and secondly, that because he’s British, going on to further explain that:

“I'd never back against a Brit in any fight, whether I like them, or I don't. That's just the way I am. I hope Fury does it.”

With a press conference scheduled to start at 9pm this evening (UK time) this will be the two fighters second meeting leading up to the fight, as they met earlier this month for their first face to face since their first bout.

There will be no doubts that AJ will be watching the fight with a close eye as both men are heavily rumoured to be future opponents.

Further fuel was added to this fire earlier this week, as Eddie Hearn revealed that a huge offer had been presented to them, which would be to stage an undisputed heavyweight clash between the winner of the Fury vs Wilder rematch and Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia.

Hearn is very keen to make this happen as he told Sky Sports that “right now, the fight Anthony Joshua wants is the winner of Wilder and Fury.”

With the rematch less than a month away, AJ along with the rest of the boxing world will be very eager to see who comes out on top second time round.
