Jorge Masvidal has this week come out and stated that McGregor doesn’t want to face ‘the baddest motherf*cker’ at the welterweight division.

Rumours have been running rife since Conor McGregor’s triumphant return to competition at UFC 246 with who his next opponent will be – it seems apparent that McGregor will fight again before the year is out but has kept coy on potential opponents.

Jorge Masvidal’s name was thrown into the mix as a possible opponent, however, it seems as though this fight won’t be happening any time soon.

‘Gamebred’ is of the opinion that McGregor is not currently ready to fight Jorge.

Guest speaking on the ‘Le Batard and Friends’ podcast via MMA Fighting, Masvidal - the BMF Champion - stated:

"Conor, he's been out for a while and we're asking him to come up to another weight class that isn't his and fight the baddest motherf*cker in that f*cking weight class.

"Let the guy get into his groove.

"When he finds his groove and space, I'll still be at the top winning. He can come knocking on my door then.

"Right now, it's sounding like what he said right after the fight, he still wants to get up to speed and do certain things.

"Get those certain things done and then when you're ready, get in contact with my camp and we'll figure it out."

The BMF Champion didn’t hesitate to comment on McGregor’s ‘mouthy fools’ remark on Saturday night…

"Obviously, I want the cash cow. I want all the money possible," Masvidal explained.

"But if they don't want to fight me then blessings be upon you and go collect your paycheck. I still have more options than all those guys you mentioned.

"So, I'm in a great position. I'm in the driver seat of all these conversations."

It is highly likely that McGregor has a lot of options on the table with there even being talk of a possible rematch with retired boxing legend Floyd Mayweather; we shall see who comes to the fore but as for right now Conor McGregor is keeping his cards pinned to his chest!
