Ole Gunnar Solskjaer probably isn’t looking forward to a trip to Tranmere this afternoon. The Manchester United is under enormous pressure at Old Trafford - especially after their 2-0 loss at home to Burnley in midweek.A defeat to League One Tranmere would almost certainly spell the end of his reign. And it seems the Norwegian is wary of a cupset. That’s because Solskjaer is playing five at the back against the Merseyside team.Diogo Dalot, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Phil Jones and Luke Shaw make up United’s defence.

And it’s something that fans certainly aren’t impressed with. Check out the reaction on social media:

Interestingly, the talented Angel Gomes travelled to Prenton Park but wasn't even named on the bench.

It could be a tough afternoon for United because Tranmere's pitch is far from perfect.

The club were forced to cover their waterlogged pitch which has seen two recent postponements.

However, Solskjaer has told his players not to use the surface as an excuse.

"The pitch is not great but that's the same for both of us,' he said in his pre-game press conference on Friday.

"The players just have to be focused and ready. There are divots everywhere. This generation coming through with Astroturf and nice pitches get lazy in the heads.

"So everyone has just got to be focused, both for injuries but also, of course, the bounce of the ball."
