The WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view takes place later today and naturally, the rumour mill is spinning wildly ahead of the big event.

Every year, a couple of superstars and legends from the past make their returns in the men's and women's Royal Rumble matches.

This year is expected to be no different, as several big superstars have reportedly been spotted in Houston, which is the city where the Rumble is taking place.

According to Wrestling Inc, The Undertaker, Shane McMahon, Michelle McCool, Molly Holly, Christian, Mark Henry, Pat Patterson, and Ted DiBiase Sr. have all been spotted in Houston this weekend ahead of the Rumble.

It's possible that all these legends are simply in Houston for the Rumble to see friends backstage or take part in any panels or backstage interviews WWE has planned throughout the show. None of the names above have been confirmed for any of the Rumble matches.

Out of the names mentioned above, many fans would think there's a chance of The Undertaker and Shane McMahon showing up in the men's Rumble, while McCool and Holly could make an appearance in the women's Rumble.

A photo floating around on social media has shown MVP's entrance on the titantron inside Minute Maid Park in Houston. MVP lives in Houston and has attended live events in the area in the past, so there's every chance he could be at the Rumble tonight.

The Undertaker was spotted at the WWE Performance Center recently, with many believing he was there in order to get himself into shape ahead of the Rumble. He was reportedly there to help out NXT stars with reviewing one of their recent shows.

As for Shane McMahon, he has not been seen on WWE TV since the first episode of SmackDown on Fox back in October.

Michelle McCool and Molly Holly last competed for WWE at the 2018 Evolution event in a Battle Royal, while MVPs last WWE match came back in late 2010.

Fans will have to keep their eyes on the Royal Rumble matches to see if any of these legends make a surprise return to the WWE.
