For the past couple of weeks, it has been rumoured that Edge will make his WWE in-ring return at the Royal Rumble, but the man himself has always denied it.

Now, the WWE Hall of Famer may be going one step further with an intelligent post on social media to try and make fans think he won't even be in the area of the Rumble match.

Tonight, the Royal Rumble will take place at Minute Maid Park in Houston, but Edge is nowhere near this location on his recent social media post.

The Rated R Superstar posted a picture of his daughter to show that he is not in Houston before the Royal Rumble. In fact, he's at home in Asheville, North Carolina.

Edge said on the Instagram post: "Mom is at work and Dada and the girls are having an Octonaut Pizza party. Ruby is still mastering the mask. Cape and masks courtesy of a certain Psycho Killer. That sentence is very odd. I occupy a strange corner of the world. Thanks @nxtciampa"

Of course, any savvy social media person will know a person can tag any location they want on an Instagram post. Then again, Edge could actually be at home and nowhere near the Rumble.

For the past couple of weeks, Edge has constantly denied the reports that he will be returning in-ring for the WWE at the Rumble. At least for now, his word appears to be the truth.

Then again, the WWE Hall of Famer could be keeping things on the down-low in order to receive a huge pop when he does return in the Royal Rumble match tonight in Houston.

The Rated-R Superstar last appeared for WWE last August at SummerSlam when he made a surprise return and speared Elias in the middle of the ring.

However, Edge hasn't wrestled for WWE in several years.

The WWE Hall of Famer's last match for the company was back in 2011 at WrestleMania XXVII where he defeated Alberto Del Rio in a World Heavyweight Championship match.

We'll have to wait until the men's Royal Rumble takes place tonight to see if Edge is either telling the truth or if he's taking advantage of the social media feature to deceive fans.
