Nate Diaz has shared his UFC plan for 2020 amid rumours of a third fight against Conor McGregor.

The American UFC star has said he will ‘watch what happens’ in 2020 and will choose his next fight carefully, after his defeat to Jorge Masvidal in his last Octagon appearance.

Diaz lost to Masvidal by knockout back in November 2019 at UFC 244. The Stockton fighter is now keeping his potential fights private until he decides what he will do next.

Diaz has largely been touted for a rematch against Irish star Conor McGregor after the ‘Notorious’ beat Donald Cerrone in his return to the Octagon.

McGregor stunned Cerrone with a knockout inside 40 seconds to relight his UFC career.

But Diaz wasn’t impressed with the fight, saying that McGregor ‘didn’t have a very hard fight on his hands’.

In McGregor’s post-fight press conference he responded to Diaz’s claims, saying that he was ready for a third fight if Nate was up for it.

Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor have a long history in the sport. Diaz originally beat the Irishman by submission in March 2016, before McGregor got his revenge at UFC 202 in August 2016.

A third fight would surely be a huge sell for UFC President Dana White, who is looking to cash-in on McGregor’s return to the Octagon.

White is currently trying to set up a rematch between Khabib Nurmagomedov and McGregor after the Russian won in their first fight.

But a third bout between Diaz and McGregor could prove to be huge if that doesn’t happen.

Another potential fight that’s on the cards is Masvidal v McGregor, which would be a stellar clash in its own right.

With so many potential fights on the cards, 2020 is looking like a huge year for UFC and the sport’s biggest fighters.
