Sting hasn't had a match in the WWE for several years now, but there are reports that he could make his return tonight at the Royal Rumble to set up a match in Saudi Arabia.

Sting hasn't competed for WWE since he was forced to retire due to a neck injury following his match with Seth Rollins at Night of Champions in 2015.

Since then, there have been talks of him possibly returning for one final match in WWE, but nothing has yet been booked for the WCW icon.

Well, that soon could be about to change, as according to PWInsider, Sting will be returning to WWE at the Royal Rumble tonight to get the ball rolling for an appearance at the next Saudi Arabia event.

PWInsider noted in their report that there’s been a lot of talks about the WWE Hall of Famer being a major part of the Saudi Arabia event next month, possibly even returning to the ring for one more match.

The fact Sting could be returning to a WWE ring will get fans excited, especially if it's happening in Saudi Arabia, as fans will be holding out hope they book a dream match between him and The Undertaker.

The Deadman is another WWE legend that has been rumoured to return to WWE at the Royal Rumble tonight. He has reportedly been spotted in Houston, Texas as well, which is where the Rumble is taking place.

However, PWInsider also stated in their report that the current creative plan that was pitched for the WCW icon did not involve The Phenom, meaning there won't be a Sting vs Undertaker dream match at least for the moment.

WWE fans have been wanting a Sting vs Undertaker match for years, and fans thought they were going to get it when Sting finally debuted for WWE in 2014, but it never happened.

Yet, with the WCW icon now rumoured to return to WWE soon, perhaps the dream match between him and The Deadman won't just be a dream for much longer.
