The game started with Tranmere on the front foot, but Maguire's rocket from outside the box completely deflated the home side.
As soon as Dalot added a second with another top finish three minutes later - his first goal for the club - the game was pretty much all over as a contest.
Lingard then decided to finally end his 13-month search for a goal in English competitions.
