WWE News: Edge reportedly signs three-year WWE contract with 'significant' money

After weeks of speculation, Edge did finally make his return to the WWE ring at the Royal Rumble to a huge ovation, and it's not just a one-off match either.

Entering the match at the number 21 position, The Rated-R Superstar received a huge cheer by the WWE fans inside Minute Maid Park in Houston, as he was competing in his first match in nine years.

Many fans will think that Edge's appearance might just be a one-off like it has been for many legends that have returned at the Royal Rumble in the past, but this reportedly isn't the case.

According to WrestleVotes, Edge has signed a three-year contract with WWE and is being paid significant money.

Looks like there's plenty of Edge to come in WWE, especially now that we're officially on the road to WrestleMania!

The Rated-R Superstar last appeared for WWE back in August at SummerSlam when he made a surprise return and speared Elias in the middle of the ring, but the Rumble was his first match in years.

Edge's participation in the Rumble was his first match in WWE since he was forced to retire due to a neck injury in 2011.

His last match prior to the Rumble was when he defeated Alberto Del Rio at WrestleMania XXVII and successfully retained the World Heavyweight Championship.

Currently, there is no word on what WWE has planned going ahead for the Hall of Famer, but given the details about his contract and his name, it's probably something big.

The current fan speculation for Edge is that he will face Randy Orton at WrestleMania 36 after the two turned on each other during the Royal Rumble Match after initially teaming up.

After entering the Rumble at number 21, Edge stayed in the match until the final three before he was the 28th elimination of the match, being thrown over the top rope by Roman Reigns.

Edge is back in WWE, and it looks like he's going to be around for many years to come!
