After weeks of speculation, Edge returned to the WWE to a huge ovation at the Royal Rumble last night, his first match with the company in nine years.

The Rated R Superstar last competed for WWE way back in 2011 at WrestleMania XXVII when he faced Alberto Del Rio and successfully defended the World Heavyweight Championship.

He did make a surprise appearance back in August at SummerSlam when he made a surprise return and speared Elias in the middle of the ring, but the Rumble was his first match in years.

Currently, there is no word on what WWE has planned going forward for Edge, but given the details about his contract, it's probably something big.

According to WrestleVotes, the Hall of Famer has signed a three-year contract with WWE with significant money.

Edge is back in WWE, and it looks like he's going to be around for many years to come! He’s bound to have a match at WrestleMania in April against a top name in order to properly welcome him back to the company.

With that in mind, here are three superstars WWE should book to face Edge at WrestleMania 36 later this year.

Randy Orton

The current fan speculation for Edge is that he will face Randy Orton at WrestleMania 36 after the two turned on each other during the Royal Rumble match after initially teaming up.

Edge and Orton reformed Rated RKO at the Rumble on Sunday to eliminate The OC’s Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows from the match, before The Viper turned on his former tag team partner.

However, The Rated R Superstar got the last laugh, as he eliminated Orton from the Rumble match, but it still looks like there’s life in this old feud from a decade ago. This would be a great feud for Edge if he ends up on Raw. The seeds have already been sown.

Roman Reigns

Another superstar Edge could face at this year’s Showcase of Immortals is Roman Reigns, as there’s already a story behind this possible feud, as well as the fact both superstars use the Spear as their finisher.

Edge was alongside Reigns, and the eventual winner Drew McIntyre, in the final three of the Rumble before he was eliminated second to last from the match by The Big Dog.

If The Rated R Superstar ends up on SmackDown, he could look for retribution against Reigns at WrestleMania. However, this match is unlikely to happen as many fans believe Reigns will face Bray Wyatt for the Universal title on the show.

AJ Styles

One final opponent Edge could face at WrestleMania 36 is AJ Styles as this was another storyline teased during the Royal Rumble match.

The Rated R Superstar and The Phenomenal One came face to face during the Rumble and Edge actually eliminated Styles from the match, as well as the rest of The OC alongside Randy Orton.

While the foundations for an Edge vs Styles match to take place are there, it still might not happen as Styles reportedly injured his arm during the Rumble match, and his WrestleMania status could be up in the air.

Edge is back in WWE, and it should only be a matter of time before fans find out who he will be feuding him first and facing at WrestleMania 36.
