Tuesday night's game between the LA Lakers and the LA Clippers has been postponed.The NBA have confirmed that the fixture will not go ahead as scheduled after the tragic death of Lakers legend Kobe Bryant.The 41-year-old, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven others were killed in a helicopter crash on Sunday.Other NBA fixtures went ahead in the aftermath of the accident, but Los Angeles was certainly not prepared to host any fixture after losing one of the city's most iconic sporting figures.

ESPN journalist Adrain Wojnarowski has confirmed that that the Clippers had no objections to the Lakers' calls to have the game postponed in the wake of Bryant's death.

He tweeted: "Discussions among the NBA, Lakers and Clippers played out over the past several hours --- ultimately with no objection from the Clippers to honor Lakers request of postponing Tuesday's game in aftermath of Kobe Bryant's passing, per sources."

Lakers fans have been gathering outside the Staples Center ever since the tragic news circulated around the world.

Bryant's impact over the city has been truly immense and Los Angeles will need plenty of time to grieve and mourn.

The city's mayor Eric Garcetti spoke on behalf of all the city's residents in the aftermath of the tragedy on his official Twitter account.

He wrote: "Kobe Bryant was a giant who inspired, amazed, and thrilled people everywhere with his incomparable skill on the court — and awed us with his intellect and humility as a father, husband, creative genius, and ambassador for the game he loved.

"Kobe will live forever in the heart of Los Angeles, and will be remembered through the ages as one of our greatest heroes.

"This is a moment that leaves us struggling to find words that express the magnitude of shock and sorrow we are all feeling right now, and I am keeping Kobe’s entire family in my prayers at this time of unimaginable grief.

"L.A. is grieving with the Bryant family over the loss of Gianna, who perished with her father and friends in today’s tragedy. Kobe loved his daughters fiercely, and this love inspired him to be an extraordinary advocate for women and girls in sports."
