Manchester United winger Leah Galton has signed a new contract with Women's Super League club until the end of the 2020-21 season.

Galton was part of the Red Devils' squad that won the Women's Championship last season and has the option for another 12-months on her new deal.

The 25-year-old has scored six goals in 34 appearances for Casey Stoney's side, since joining the club in July 2018.

"The future is very bright for Leah," Stoney told the club website.

"She is a strong presence on the pitch. I believe she is one of the best in the country in her position.

"Her development since she joined the club has been fantastic to witness."

She came through the youth ranks at local club Leeds United, working her way up to the senior team and making her debut for them in 2010 at the age of 16.

Leah spent two seasons at Leeds but left the club to take up a four-year scholarship with Hofstra Pride in New York.

While at university, Galton scored 48 goals in 82 appearances and was named the Colonial Athletic Association player of the year three-times, being the only player to do so.

The-25-year-old was drafted to Sky Blue FC in the National Women's Soccer League 2016, where she played 30 times, scoring five goals.

Prior to her move to United, she spent a brief spell at Germany-giants Bayern Munich, playing only twice before taking a break from football.

Leah has represented England at under-17. under-19, and under-23 level.
