Many WWE fans were pretty surprised on Sunday night when Charlotte Flair was crowned the Women's Royal Rumble winner.

For much of the month of January, NXT star Shayna Baszler, who had been champion of Full Sail for over a year, had been the favourite to land the spoils with bookmakers.

But a last-minute shift in the odds saw Flair become the bookies' favourite, and they proved to be absolutely correct.

It was Baszler who went flying over the top rope last, earning Flair yet another title opportunity on the Grandest Stage of Them All - WrestleMania.

Charlotte had a chance to make her selection of title to go for last night on Raw, but she declined to choose, instead keeping the fans guessing.

But according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Charlotte will face neither of the current main roster Women's Champions, per WrestlingInc.

Meltzer has indicated that Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch is currently pencilled in to face Baszler, whilst Flair v SmackDown champ Bayley is also not in the plans of WWE.

This means that one of a few things is happening.

Flair is either challenging NXT Women's Champion Rhea Ripley, which seems awfully unlikely, or one of Bayley or Lynch is losing their title before WrestleMania.

With the second theory, there's every chance that Ronda Rousey could return before Mania and dethrone Lynch - she hasn't been seen since the last WrestleMania.

If that happens, the reportedly locked-in Lynch v Baszler could go ahead as a non-title match, and Flair's WrestleMania title match could come against the Rowdy one.

As ever though in WWE, plans can change and Flair may yet end up facing Lynch or Bayley - but it's not in the works right now.
