The roof was blown off the Minute Made Stadium in Houston on Sunday as fans’ favourite Edge made his return to the ring after nine years out.

The 46-year-old was forced to retire back in April 2011 due to spinal stenosis which posed the Rated-R Superstar with a huge risk of eventual paralysis if he continued to wrestle.

However, after this long spell on the sidelines, he made his return in the 2020 Royal Rumble, entering the ring at number 21.

Edge’s iconic entrance caused the loudest cheer of the night and despite being out of the ring for such a long time, there was little signs of ring rust.

In fact, Edge picked up where he left off, using his spear finishing move on practically every other wrestler in the ring.

Despite being eliminated by Roman Reigns late on in the rumble, all WWE fans will just be happy to see Edge back in the ring competing again.

The rumours of Edge’s return have been common in the last few months, with Mike Johnson of PW Insider proving to be largely correct in his reports.

The superstar has also been uploading frequent gym photos onto his social media again raising the rumours of his imminent return to WWE.

After holding talks with AEW to potentially sign with them, according to talkSPORT, Edge decided to move back to WWE, signing a three-year deal reportedly worth $3 million a year.

The 11-time World Champion has signed a contract now that commits him to five matches in 2020 on top of 25 regular appearances.

It is speculated that after his Royal Rumble showdown, Edge will compete at WrestleMania against his former partner and friend Randy Orton, as well as fights at SummerSlam and in multiple Saudi Arabia shows.

After being told he would never wrestle again, the moment Edge returned with his signature entrance theme will go down in WWE history.
