Aston Villa are on their way to Wembley. Dean Smith's side have booked their ticket to the Carabao Cup final, where they will face either Manchester City or Manchester United, with a stoppage-time 2-1 win over Leicester. With 93 minutes on the clock, Trezeguet scored the winner, getting on the end of a pinpoint cross from Elmohamady. A goal made in Egypt and one which gives Villa a shot at silverware. Villa Park absolutely erupted as the fans celebrated with a good old-fashioned pitch invasion.

The players, particularly Trezeguet, were mobbed as thousands rejoiced in the magic of the cup.

Some of the brilliant scenes can be seen below:

Leicester were defeated 3-2 on aggregate, Matt Targett opening the scoring in the second leg.

Kelechi Iheanacho had levelled the scores, only for Villa to be rewarded for refusing to lie down in the dying minutes.

Wembley awaits

It's very likely to be City lying in wait.

Not to dampen any spirits, but that means what will be a thrilling day out at the national stadium could also be a very tough one.

Pep Guardiola's men have, of course, won the trophy in four of the last six seasons.

That daunting prospect can wait for another day, however, as the ecstatic scenes we've seen tonight epitomise just what the domestic cups are all about.

In a week when Jurgen Klopp has essentially boycotted the FA Cup - and Guardiola himself recently called for replays to be scrapped - it's great to see dreams being realised at Villa Park.
