Former England international Suzie Rowe has agreed terms with Kent and will play with the county this summer, eight years after leaving.

Born in Lewisham, Rowe played for Kent between 2004 and 2012 before moving to Surrey. Having won the Women’s county championship on five occasions between 2006 and 2012, Rowe also won back to back national Women’s T20 competitions.

Her success during this time led her to tour Sri Lanka with the England Women’s team in 2010. Rowe won 29 of her next 32 completed matches with England before missing out on the Women’s World T20 in 2012 through injury.

A right-handed lower middle-order batsman, Rowe averaged over 35 in her first stint at Kent, scoring 1,262 runs in just 70 matches across all formats.

A talented hockey player as well, Rowe stepped away from cricket in 2015 to play in the Women’s England Hockey League Premier Division for Canterbury and has represented England at U-21 level. She is now a player-coach at Maidstone Hockey Club, having also had a spell with Sevenoaks.

On her reasons for returning to cricket, Rowe said: “ The profile of Women’s cricket has massively grown in the past few years and it’s been fantastic to see.”

After England’s World Cup success in 2017 and with the introduction of the ECB’s new flagship competition The Hundred, Rowe is delighted to playing cricket again.

“I’m delighted to have the opportunity to put on the Kent Women jersey once more and I’m really looking forward to hitting the ground running back among a very talented group here.”

Given how successful her first-spell with the club was, the Kent faithful will no-doubt be hoping for much more of the same.
