The Raw and SmackDown female divisions are doing just fine without her, but it would be a major boost to WWE if Ronda Rousey returned to the ring sometime soon.

'Rowdy' Rousey signed a deal in 2018 that is set to expire in April 2021, but hasn't been seen since WrestleMania 35 nearly 10 months ago.

She departed soon after on an 'impregnation vacation' with husband Travis Browne, but nothing has transpired since then [that the public know of anyway] and WWE fans are anticipating her comeback.

Stephanie McMahon confirmed to GiveMeSport in an exclusive interview in December that Rousey will return to WWE, but there's no time-scale on that occurring.

Rousey though has made her first appearance on WWE-produced content since last April though, but it wasn't on Raw or SmackDown - it was on Corey Graves' After The Bell podcast.

Ronda gave praise to her good friend Shayna Baszler and the whole NXT brand in general, and picked out a special talent in particular who she'd love to work with.

“Oh, my God. Rhea Ripley, she is doing amazing,” Rousey said when Graves asked who is on her radar, per Lords of Pain.

“I would love to be in a match with her some day. She matches up with everybody so differently, and there are so many things that she could really pull out of people that they can’t do with anybody else.

"So, I’m really looking forward to seeing if we ever get that opportunity, but I’d love to get in the ring with her. She’s fantastic.”

Rousey feels so strongly about Ripley's talents that she'd love to see her defend the NXT Women's Championship on the Grandest Stage of Them All - WrestleMania - against the Royal Rumble winner Charlotte Flair on April 5.

“I really hope that Charlotte picks Rhea Ripley. I really do," Rousey admitted.

"I mean, Charlotte and Becky have great matches but they’ve had so many of them I feel like it’s time to get some new girls in the situation.

"It’s just a unique match that I think they could put on definitely a WrestleMania level of show.

"This has been NXT’s year, and I think it’s their time to be the… the first time that they’re picked by a Royal Rumble winner, and faced at ‘Mania.”

Flair was rumoured to be on NXT last night to challenge Ripley but it never occurred, however there's still time to make that a reality - and it would seemingly certainly please a certain Mrs Rousey.
